If you’re in need of some cheering up this summer (or winter, antipodean friends) - and let’s face it, who isn’t these days? - I have just the thing for you.

Carrie Hatchett, Space Adventurer is my very first series. It’s a humorous sci-fi adventure, and over the last couple of years I’ve been recording the audiobooks and editing as I go along, bringing the series up to scratch.

Carrie’s impulsive, reckless nature gets her in trouble again, and if she wants to keep her job as a Transgalactic Intercultural Community Crisis Liaison Officer, she has to pass remedial training.

Little does she know that her survival and the future of the galactic empire are also at stake.

SHIP’S LOG

The starship took a short holiday of its own, up to beautiful Northumberland, one of England’s most northerly counties.

It was my first visit, and boy I discovered what I’d been missing.

We saw castles, stately homes, stunning forests and beaches. We even visited the Holy Isle of Lindisfarne, the site of the first Viking raid in England. You can only drive to the island by crossing the causeway at low tide, so that was quite the experience in itself.

We stayed in the ancient town of Alnwick. As well as its own castle and gardens, it also has a shop window where glass bottles have sat undisturbed since 1725, believed to be cursed after the landlord dropped dead after touching them.
