How to get my books for nothing
Dear shipmate,
It was rather bold of me to tell you last week that this week’s bulletin would be all about how to get my books for nothing.
I should have known—and, in fact, did know—that there are far too many tips to include them all in one bulletin, so I will focus on just a few and then refer you once again to the full post on my blog.
The reason for pointing out these options is I wanted to tell you about the recent publications of two complete series: Star Mage Saga and Space Colony One.
STAR MAGE SAGA
Carina Lin is a slum brat turned mercenary—with a twist. She’s also a mage, and she’s about to risk everything.
Space opera meets old magic in a dark science fantasy spanning 2113 pages.
SPACE COLONY ONE
Humanity’s first deep space colony.
Humanity’s last hope.
A multi-generational, epic space colonisation adventure in 2165 pages.
Each of these ebooks contains nine novels, which makes them very expensive!
However, you should be able to get them by request at a library, via services such as Overdrive and Hoopla.
The box sets are also available on subscription services such as Kobo Plus and Everand (which has a free 30-day trial).
And you can listen to the audiobooks free on YouTube.
For more ideas on paying little to nothing for books, check out my blog post.
If you’ve already read and enjoyed either or both of the series, I would very much appreciate a review at any bookstore.
SHIP’S LOG
Sometimes in life, nothing seems to happen at all. At other times, everything happens all at once, right?
It’s been one of those weeks.
I’ve been busy preparing for the Sci-Fi Weekender convention at Great Yarmouth, UK. I will be there on the 21st and 22nd of March, sharing a table with fellow sci-fi writer M.T. McGuire.
If you’re going too, please pop over to the dealers’ section and say hello. I love meeting shipmates.
I’ve also been recording the final few chapters of Talman Prime. I’m so proud of the way this audiobook is turning out, I published a short taster of the first three chapters on YouTube.
And the starship went on a short voyage! We visited one of the remaining areas of fenland in the UK.
East Anglia used to be mostly comprised of marshes and wetlands, but about 400 years ago, massive draining projects got underway, turning the reedbeds and bogs into farmland.
Unfortunately, this was a disaster for the local people and wildlife, but work to preserve what is left continues.
There’s a photo of Woodwalton Fen at the bottom of the bulletin.
