It’s hard to believe that it was almost six years ago to the day the Starship JJ Green Shipmates Facebook group first opened its hatch.

Happy Birthday to all the shipmates over there and here too!

Since then the group has been keeping everyone entertained with banter and silly sci-fi memes.

Occasionally, if I’m polite and ask nicely, they also allow me to post news and updates.

The birthday reminder got me thinking about my publishing journey.

I published my first book, a collection of science fiction stories, There Comes a Time, on the 18th of July 2015, quickly followed by Mission Improbable, book one in my first series, Carrie Hatchett, Space Adventurer.

What a journey it’s been since then.

Five series later and beginning my sixth, next year will be the starship’s ten-year anniversary. I must do something special on July 18th 2025 to mark it. Perhaps a big giveaway, or special editions, or a huge party!

It goes without saying but I’m going to say it anyway: None of the characters or stories I’ve created along the way would have been possible without your support, for which you have my heartfelt thanks.

SHIP’S LOG

Talking of anniversaries, something that’s become a yearly event for the starship is a visit to Langdon Hills Country Park, Essex, in the first week of May when the bluebells are in full bloom.

I posted pics on the Facebook page, and there’s pic of the beautiful view at the bottom of the bulletin.

Over the course of my life I’ve lived in Australia, Laos and Taiwan, but I have to say, since returning to the UK I’ve begun to really appreciate the English countryside.

I also found time this week to nearly finish recording Interstellar Mission, Space Colony One book four. The first three books are already up on YouTube.

PROMOTIONS

Summer’s nearly here (in the northern hemisphere, anyway). It’s time to stock up on some of the coolest free fantasy & sci-fi books. Don’t forget to check out the starship’s promos too.
